Sarah Wilcox, LCSW
If change, balance, and peace were easy to find you would have found them already. As your therapist I can create safety, ask new questions, and bring clarity as you walk through the tapestry of life looking for root causes, reasons, and patterns. I can also give information, and skills that can help provide relief. I help people struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, a prenatal/post partum phase of life, faith transition, and individuals and couples looking to improve and clarify their relationships. I would be honored to work with you during a life transition.
I offer a gentle, collaborative, curious approach to first learn about struggles, patterns, and stuck points. It is important to me to understand what you would like to accomplish in therapy, what you know works for you, and what has not worked. I tend to have enjoyable and even humorous moments during sessions which contrast the deep work we do.
I agree with the idea that all behavior makes sense in context. Spending time to build trust and understanding is very important to me. I do my best to maintain a sense of cultural humility and to be curious and open to ways of life I have not personally experienced. I am LGBTQI+ supportive and believe bodies of all sizes can be healthy.
I draw much of my own sense of balance from movement and the outdoors.
